Four Ingredient Recipes- Low Fat French Toast


I love french toast, especially when my mom makes a french toast with Pannetone? Sweet baby ruth.

But since I am on a quest to look like a supermodel eat healthily, I try to re-create my favorite recipes into a lower fat version.
I must give most of the credit to the invention of 0 calorie spray butter.

Whoever invented this magical concoction, thank you.

So here is my take on low-fat French Toast and I think you will love it.


Low Fat French Toast

1– 2 slices (per person) Sara Lee 45 calorie whole wheat bread
2- 2 egg whites
3– 1/4 c. (or less) of low-fat milk
4– 1 capful of vanilla
sides– soy sausage (Morningstar Farms is my favorite and you can have two patties for only 160 calories), low-calorie syrup, 0 calorie spray butter.
Mix the egg whites, milk and vanilla together in a bowl big enough to fit a slice of bread ( I use a pie plate).
Dip the pieces of bread in the mixture on both sides then place them on a preheated griddle or skillet.
If you use a griddle, you shouldn’t need to put any oil on it or use it sparingly. 
If you use a skillet, just spray the bottom of the pan with Pam spray.  
Cook the bread slices until done, usually around 3-4 minutes per side.

I spray the pieces immediately with the 0 calorie spray butter and the low cal syrup…heaven!


Serve with some veggie sausage and fruit and you have a low-calorie meal.
Breakfast for dinner.
It’s what the cool kids are doing.

Low-Fat French Toast

  • 1- 2 slices per person Sara Lee 45 calorie whole wheat bread
  • 2- 2 egg whites
  • 3- 1/4 c. or less of low-fat milk
  • 4- 1 capful of vanilla
  1. Combine egg white, milk and vanilla in a pie plate. Add a dash of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  2. Dip your bread in the mixture, coating both sides.
  3. Spray a griddle with Pam and wait for it to preheat.
  4. Once your griddle is preheated, add your bread slices and cook until done.
  5. It won’t take as long as traditional french toast because you are only using the egg white.
  6. Serve with soy or turkey sausage for a low-calorie meal!
