Especially Valentine’s questions.
It’s making Valentines so not as much fun for me this year.
Seriously.
How do I feel about WHAT?
Valentines?
The idea behind it?
Flowers?
The price of a box of chocolate?
How on earth Fannie Mae had to close stores is beyond me when you see what they charge for a small box of crack…I mean chocolate? I will tell you what I think about Valentine’s; I like it.
I do.
Maybe my snarky past Valentine’s day posts would lead you down the road of woe and denial of past Valentines but really I do like it.
Wanna know why?
Because of my kids.
Let me first say, my husband is the bomb.
He really is amazing.
But I really enjoyed Valentines day more after I had kids.
Because they get so excited about it.
My 7th grader still loves Valentine’s Day and my preschooler is so over the moon about it because she finally gets it.
It’s fun to make cards, to draw hearts, to buy a gift for your loved ones.
Not just because the calendar tells us so but because it gives us something to look forward to mid-winter and frankly in the Midwest, we need something to look forward to mid-February.
And I love them so much.
The end.
Some of my most precious Valentine memories are of shopping for classmate valentines, making 'mailboxes' for the kids and using my heart cookie cutter on peanut butter sandwiches. I totally loved those days and I get it. What you mean….xoenjoy your V-day!Leslie (Gwen Moss)
