You do realize the hardest part of writing these posts are coming up with a title, right? My original title was going to be It’s Halloween So Here’s Some Scary Stuff To Watch. Tell Me How It Ends.
I used to watch scary movies when I was younger. I remember once hosting a pizza party with Nightmare on Elm Street 1 and 2 being the main event. Every Halloween as a teenager, I would watch Michael Myers terrorize Haddonfield, Illinois with my dad and a big bowl of popcorn.
But over the past few years, I have become a namby-pamby. A pantywaist. A wussy.
I don’t know what happened to me quite honestly but I blame parenting. Because when I watch any of these movies now, the first thing I think of is “I feel so bad for those stupid teenagers moms” or “why on Earth would you leave your children with a sitter on Halloween night?”
I was on the treadmill at the gym recently and Halloween was playing on one of the television monitors. I couldn’t stop looking away. I was sucked in. And proceeded to get frightened in broad daylight surrounded by 70-year-old women doing stretches.
That’s why I am going to focus this Halloween post on light-hearted fare!
I know what I am dressing up as this year…
