As I am writing this, I am recovering from the worst flu I have ever experienced in my life and while yes, medication, lots of liquids and my husband are quite literally saving my life, my dog has quite literally saved my soul.
With every cough, grunt, and tear I have shed over the past week and a half, Buddy is right there snuggling against the curve of my legs, laying his head on my lap, letting me pet his soft fur to make all the bad thoughts go away.
He is one of the best creatures in my life, hands down.
We shop at Meijer for all of Buddy’s dog food as well as treats and toys because we always buy Made in the USA products for him and at Meijer, we can always find a great selection without being overwhelmed by choices.
Our Meijer routine always includes a stop at the in-store coffee shop, then with coffee in hand, head to the pet section to look at toys, bones and dog food and on to our regular shopping.
Purina® Beneful® and Purina® Dog Chow have been the dog foods of choice Buddy has eaten since day one as that is the brand our veterinarian suggested. When he came into our family, Buddy was very weak and sick with a high fever and cough (kind of like me last week). The vet said that this food was everything he needed (in addition to his medication) to help him thrive.
After a week of love, snuggles and good dog food, our Buddy came out of his illness happy and healthy.
Purina Beneful Healthy Weight is made with real chicken which seems to be Buddy’s favorite when it isn’t Beneful Grain Free. We love it because we are giving him healthy dog food with real meat but aren’t spending way too much money doing so.
Right now if you have MPerks, Meijer’s reward program that gives you cash back for purchases, through March 3, 2018, you can save $1 off a 32 lb. bag or smaller of dog chow OR $1 off any size Beneful dog food. Head here to register for Meijer MPerks or if you have MPerks, to print your coupon.
