A few months ago, my husband had suggested I run a fun tour of these homes this summer for some of his co-workers as they were John Hughes’s movie fans. We had planned a route, where we were going to make pit stops, planned out tee-shirts, and even had a playlist. Then coronavirus hit and now we aren’t sure when or if this will happen. But since we are heading into birthday week, I wanted to re-share this post because it is one of my favorites. Mike and I had so much fun researching for this post and it is during my birthday week that we usually revisit these places together.
This year it will have to be virtual. 🙂

I love this post so much because I also love his movies. (BTW: He died way too young, just think of the movies he could have kept on making)
You did so well on your research and I can’t imagine the amount of work/time/dedication you’ve put into this damn good tour. Where do I leave a yelp review? Trip Advisor? Bueller? Bueller?
I went and read the post where you ‘broke into’ the Breakfast Club school; you and Mike are so much fun. I love that he indulges you in your hobby. (obsession)
As many times as I’ve been to Chicago, I’ve not done ONE thing on your list. NOT. ONE.
I’m off to read about Nancy now; I’m sure she was a great person too.
And….this weekend, I really want to watch The Breakfast Club. It’s been too long.

He is such a good sport. But he does love his movies too. He got that from his dad working on them. I even believe that Mike got to be on set a couple of times, which is so cool.
If you ever get up here again, I’m taking you on the tour. We will get Ernie too. It will be fun. Booze will be involved. ❤️

Oh, I forgot to mention how awesome your FIL is; former cop? And a movie buff? What could be better?
I’m watching Sixteen Candles now. It’s been SO long that I completely forgot that John Cusack was in it and he’s one of my favorites. Am I losing my marbles? Probably.
Also; Jake Ryan was so cute. I mean, the actor. But also, he stopped acting in 1991 and is a carpenter. I always need carpentry work. Always.
