Did You Know There Are 34 Menopause Symptoms?

A Grace Full Life

First published November 20th, 2017

I have gone through menopause for the past ten years. Just kidding, it’s only been like two, it just feels like ten.

Because the symptoms of menopause are SUCKING MY SOUL RIGHT OUT OF MY BODY. According to the website 34 Menopause Symptoms Dot Com (yes, it’s a real website. I think), there are indeed 34. They must have decided to create a website to inform others that just when you think you have enough things to worry about in your life as a woman, you also get thirty-four gifts at the end of your period, kind of like a hormonal Hanukkah.

Being a woman is a glorious thing.

So instead of bitching and moaning, I decided to have fun with the list.

In honor of my generation going through the change, I paired 80’s songs with each symptom.

Aren’t you glad you know me?

  1. “Kind of like a hormonal Hanukkah”—that was pure gold.

“It’s no fun walking around naked and sounding like you are wearing corduroy pants.”
I almost wet my pants when you linked The Rain by OranJuice

I don’t have ALL of them, but I do have some.
1 (under control now) 4, 5,8, 11, 12, 13,15, I’ve been feeling some allergies, but I can’t tell if its allergies, menopause or covid.
19-I wore a heart monitor for a weekend in my mid 40’s. Joyful.
29-Thanks for making me laugh like a hyena.
    OMG. This sucks.
But you, you made me laugh!

  2. Those cheesecake cupcake things were a recipe we found on the box of Baker’s chocolate; however we did make a few small changes and I have a whole recipe blog post written about them going up on the blog on August 1st. If you need/ want the recipe before then I could always try emailing it to you.

  3. I want to read your book!

I am still sloooooowly weaning off estradiol because I am so afraid of all of this. I might still be taking a teeny-tiny dose of it when I’m in my 70s.

    1. I worked on it for six hours yesterday, not in a row. But somehow I made it worse and I think you know (as a writer) how that is possible. Paragraphs all over the place, I added in stories where they don’t belong and now I need to add in another chapter and I don’t even know how that will happen. BUT I AM IN LOVE WITH MY BOOK ALREADY!

I am almost at the end of this and I cannot wait to be done. At the finish line of the worst marathon of my life. 🙂

  4. I barely had any, was rather mild compared to what others tell me they went thru. My MIL had me scared to death, I was dreading it.
