  1. Love this adventure. Friends who take flat versions of friends places are good friends indeed.

When I was VERY pregnant with Mini a nephew in KC sent me his flat self for a school project. I was still the kind of sis in law who did not want to kiss anyone off, so I took Flat Michael to the zoo. My brother had a friend in town from Ireland who joined us at the zoo. He then, if memory serves, took Flat Michael to Ireland.

No joke- the kids came to meet the baby at the hospital and I was like HOLD ON, I HAVE TO GIVE DADDY THIS ROLL OF FILM AND THIS ENVELOPE. DEVELOP IT AND MAIL IT TO YOUR SISTER. THE ENVELOPE IS ADDRESSED. ONLY SEND THE PHOTOS WITH THE FLAT MICHAEL IN THERE.

Who even was I? Best flipping aunt ever, that’s who.

  2. I did the photo shoot for Flat Stanley once! Iโ€™d forgotten about that. So much fun. I was a teen I think? Stan came for a visit – sent by one of my young relatives. We had a time. Stan driving farm equipment. Stan feeding horses /narrowly missing being eaten by horses. He may have lost an arm.
The horses are gone but if Flat Kari wants to drive a tractor send her down!

Developing film! I remember that too. Digital photography is right up there with air conditioning. We are living in a golden age.

Omg just realized Flat Kari could have photo effects & stickers now…. Oh the possibilities!

    1. Hold on, HOLD ON. You grew up on a farm and had horses? Oh friend. I didnโ€™t know this piece of information. I come from a long line of farmers but my Ella is a horse rider. Like HORSE RIDER. Itโ€™s in her DNA. I do believe if we took blood work, we would find horses in there. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ

I feel like Flat Kari needs to be reinvented.

      1. Yay! Ellaโ€™s a Horse Kid! Aw. Horses are so good for kids. They teach so much. If youโ€™re not horse people tho must b a shock to have a horse kid. I was horse obsessed from go. Fam humored me. Not being horse people they foolishly thought Iโ€™d out grow it. They sent me to Horse Camp. Ha! Horse Camp unleashed my full Horse Kid powers – surrounded by ponies, other horse kids, living the Horse Life 24/7. Not a phase fam. Not growIng out of it.

Eventually my fam moved & built a small horse farm. How great was my childhood? Who gets a pony? I got a pony! But I always did the work. From cleaning tack to mucking stalls. Not spoiled. Just really lucky. (Also my mom got into riding too. Horses can be contagious – watch out Kari!)

So. When are you buying a horse farm for Ella? Hmmmm? ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. SO CONTAGIOUS. I am so in love with their magical powers. They have given Ella so much comfort and happiness over the years. I owe them eternal gratitude. ๐Ÿ’œ

The question is, when is Ella buying the horse farm? And when can Mike and I move into the back of the property? I told her I would work in the barn for room and board. ๐Ÿ˜

  3. Oh, this is too much fun! I remember the Flat Stanley project when mine was small but I can’t remember any fun adventures that were had by our Flat Stanley. I also remember having film developed. Any youngun’s that swing by are going to be scratching their heads over that one!

  4. I can hear the slimy movie producer now: “You’re a star, you’re going places, you’re gonna eat everywhere”. I believe that is how they all talk in California.
I love this so much. How fun!! I’m a little jealous because you really DID go places and SAW people.
I DO remember flat Stanly. There was a time around 12 years ago or so that a blogger friend did this with a stuffed animal. She would send it to different bloggers and we’d have ‘adventures’ and post them, then send the little guy off to the next person. SO fun.
Me? I’m so proud of you for the 2021 part. (only took 3 months!) And Suz was flat Suz until she was around 24; you were in good company.
