My Favorite John Hughes Movies

A Grace Full Life

I was thinking (nary a good thing) of what John Hughes movies I would take with me if I were stranded on a deserted island. But how would you know ahead of time if you’d be stranded? On a deserted island? So why is that question ever asked?

Then it made me dive even deeper. Oh, brother.  What if I were on a deserted island with John Hughes himself? Yes, I know he’s dead. And what if together we thought up the perfect screenplay?
But we didn’t have any paper and pen.  Because hello, stranded. Then, because we are so delusional from hunger and sun and desertedness, one of us ended doing the worst act known to man.

We forgot the premise to our great screenplay idea. You thought I was going somewhere else with that, didn’t you?

  1. I’ve seen some of these movies, but I’m not much of a movie person. The Breakfast Club I liked and Sixteen Candles was cute, but if I saw some of the other ones they didn’t stick in my brain.

    1. I’m not much of a movie person either anymore! Which is pretty funny when I write it here. I go on about a movie director. I “wrote” a screenplay. But I don’t like going to the movies and if given a choice, I would watch a tv show or read a book over a movie! 🙂

  2. I love Mr. Mom so much; Coach and I were quoting it just yesterday. (again!) Would you believe that I didn’t know it was a John Hughs movie until 4 minutes ago? YOU are teaching me things.

All your faves are also mine. Christmas Vacation is a staple around here either (or both) Thanksgiving and Christmas. My Uncle Jim resembles Uncle Eddie….only in looks, not demeanor.

I think I saw Dutch about 200 years ago…don’t remember if it was good or not.

You know, I’ve tried my hand at Photoshop many times, took many classes and I still can NOT do it. So, yours looks pretty professional in my book.

    1. I didn’t know for many years! AND I forgot Only the Lonely! LOVE that movie too.

I need a picture of Uncle Jim.

I can’t do Photoshop either. There’s a reason they offer college courses on it.
