Podcast #11- Enjoying the View

A couple of extras before I share the podcast.

Here is a link to the Rainbow Symphony website, which I talk about in the podcast. They give a 10% discount if you subscribe, which I did. But I’ve had the decals up for a few days now, and if you could see my house covered with rainbows, you’d hand over your money right now.

I also talk about my homemade chai latte and how I planned on making an iced chai later that day. I tried it, and it tasted exactly like the one I get from Starbucks. 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope you can take a moment to appreciate the view.

    1. I want to buy everything on that website.

It reminds me of the movie Pollyanna when she hung prisms in the window. My home looks like that now. I love it. If you’ve never seen Pollyanna, that won’t make sense. 🙂

  1. I don’t want you to think I’m rude, or worse… ignoring you… but I’m just not a huge podcast fan. I tend to read and comment on blogs in short snippets of time in between other things so I rarely sit still long enough to listen.

  2. I LOVE the GPS analogy; so clever!!
I’m so happy that you had such a nice Mother’s day this year; what a change, right? I bet that visit/shopping/lunch with your Mom was Soup for The Soul.
Ok, Lolo has the rainbow window film in her sunroom and she loves it. I went to your link and saw the Bee Kind variety and I didn’t even look at the price, I just added it to my damn cart. NEED!

    1. Isn’t it??
Soup for the soul is spot on.
NEED is right. I used to quibble at prices and then I changed that thought process. It has been worth every penny. The rainbows in my home have filled my soul this week. 🙂

  3. I honestly rarely have time to listen to podcasts. Sorry but I am more of a read bits between other things kinda blogger. I listened to this one while waiting at a doctor’s office with Reg last night. That was urgent care. Now we are at the pediatrician. Some concerning issues. Maybe celiac? Maybe nothing? Ugh.

So glad you enjoyed Mother’s Day. Oh how I love shopping. This year without it though, well – I now think of a million other things to do with my time. Who even am I? My protein shakes are to me what your lattes are to you. I am just not a coffee drinker. The rainbow light filter things sound so cool. The GPS analogy was really good. I just need to know who’s universe/creator/God is refusing to turn left on green? Cause I rarely enjoy the view during those ‘universe brain fart’ episodes. 😉

    1. It makes me feel sad that I’m hearing that people don’t have time to listen to podcasts. Although you did find time to listen to this one and I’m glad. I’m not glad, however, that it was while waiting at urgent care. I hope Reg is feeling better. 😘

  4. I know that chai concentrate! That used 2b my ritual a million years ago. I’d take my favorite small sauce pan (there are pics of me, age 3?, pretend cooking with this saucepan while my mom actually cooks…. this sauce pan & I go waaaay back) and add that Tazo chai concentrate plus whatever extras I felt like, Made the whole house smell like love. Thx for reminding me.

That Tik Tok! Love it! A few years ago I was given a detour that forced me to just live every day, one day at a time. It is a curse and a gift… when you live in a small time frame (one day at a time). I try to set the GPS to “Happy” every day. When u write or podcast about the things you’ve discovered (like chai at home or a lovely day with your mom) it reminds me of how much joy we can create (“Small Daily Happy” moments) if we just try… even using the simplest of things, like a car picnic and good conversation with someone we love.

This mom’s day I sent pop-up cards to people (aunts, moms, etc). Some cards were pretty posies but I also found pop-up Sakura trees, pop-up llamas (*llamas*!!) because Etsy is endlessly clever. (Must give credit to Butterfly Suz who showed a gorgeous, tasteful pop-up card on her blog & planted the idea in me. I love Butterfly Suz.) Let me tell u…. Pop-up cards bring a lotta joy to adults opening their mail. The responses have been lovely.

Now u have me thinking of mailing prism decals! It is our duty to spread “Small Daily Happy“! 🙂

    1. Aww, I love that we follow a very similar path! You are such a soul sister. I love this so much.

I sent a pop up card to my mom! I got the idea from Suz’ blog! I love how we’re all interconnected around here. 😘💜🌈

      1. Seriously the number of times u write or talk about stuff that has been percolating in my mind…. Big stuff. Small stuff. Even your kid names are, like, my favs. 😉 That has to mean soul sisters, right?

I wonder how many pop up cards spread joy this year because lovely Suz blogged. She is force of good. I also love the interconnectedness. You are part of a wonderful group of bloggers. I really hope karma is real bc kind bloggers like y’all should be rewarded by the universe for the good u do.

      2. YES! IT DOES! ❤️

She is such a force of good. I truly think the Universe was looking out for me. Hooking me up with this group before the pandemic so I would be happy throughout. I am already seeing that universal good. I’m happy, healthy, and I have the best people like you, who leave these beautiful notes here. 🌈💜❤️😘

  5. I started listening and then I stopped and made myself a cup of chai tea and really got into it. Catching up on all of your episodes 🙂

Very Rory Gilmore of you to not want to keep books out of the library for too long. Sounds like such a lovely day with your mom. I love the self-care you are doing right now, it’s inspiring me to get off my ass and do the work.

    1. GIRL! I didn’t even get to the chai tea part of the episode when I made myself some!! OMG having a total universal moment right now. I used to get my chai from Kent all the time and then started making them at home and it’s my happy place too!

      1. I LOVE THIS.
I actually bought myself a Starbucks cup so that when I make my homemade tastes-like-Starbucks-iced-chai-latte and drink it out of that cup, it really tastes like I got it at Starbucks. 🙂
