Podcast #12- Puppies, Podcasts & Plants

A couple of things…

My microphone cuts out a few times at first, but it improves.

Here are a couple of pictures of the plant shop I mention:

And here is a sneak peek at our new family member.

In addition, yesterday was our 15th wedding anniversary! Mike and I plan to do more podcasts together because it’s a lot of fun to have him to discuss things back and forth.

I know I said Kristen would do some podcasts with me and we will! But we’re currently working on the book. We just finished Chapter 8, and there are a total of 12 chapters, so we are making progress. I’m very excited about where it’s going. In my mind, I see it on the shelves, which is good for manifestation.

I took this picture of my family room bathed in rainbow from the stickers I talk about. This photo wasn’t edited nor did I use a filter. Best money I’ve ever spent.

Have a wonderful Friday, my friends. Thank you, as always, for joining me on this adventure. 🙂

    1. They are from an online store called Rainbow Symphony. I ordered the package of decals for windows. I believe they are 17 or 18 dollars but it comes with many different decals for every window in your home.

Thank you for the well-wishes. It was a very interesting anniversary. Mike and I will be talking about it on the next podcast. 🙂

  1. You need to do the Embark DNA test-they sell them on Amazing for $99.
Yay for rescues; he’s adorable. But, I can not imagine having a puppy EVER. I love his name; singular or plural.
I can’t wait to get home and see my rainbows too. Plant stores make me high.

    1. My mom just told me about this today! SO much cheaper than the vet’s office!

We had forgotten how hard a puppy was until having him. It was like having a newborn again. NO LIE. But we are falling into a routine now and he is already getting a potty training routine.

I love that you will get rainbows too! Everyone deserves to have them in their home.

I don’t listen to podcasts but may have to change my mind to find out about those stickers!

  3. A puppy? So stinking cute. That is an adventure. Looking forward to more photos. And the rainbow photo . . . hmm the tots I sit for would probably love playing in a rainbow setting. That’s wild. Happy anniversary. Awesome that you can visualize the book on the shelf. Keep up the momentum.

  4. Biscuits is a wonderful name! And he’s sooooo cute! (Two pounds! Squeeeeee!) So is he Southern Biscuits (like “layered, buttery biscuits”), British Biscuits (as in “crunchy biscuits & a cuppa tea”), Treat Biscuits (“biscuits for Good – aka All – Dogs”), or all of the above? 🙂

Love that one of your blog’s reasons for being is to be a chronicle for you and your family. That’s wonderful. There are so many conversations and family events I wish I had recorded now that the memory is getting a bit faded.

Have fun with the puppers. Buddy is a Very Good Dog for welcoming the new addition (and omg your daughter is stellar for taking a lead role in raising Biscuits!).

PS. Sending good thoughts for the ailing house plant. That’s the sad truth…. despite the “house” bit, many want growing conditions that aren’t found in most houses. High rh is hard to do. I’ve seen house plants revive after summering outside – that’s a great idea you have there. I think I had best luck by going slow (way higher light levels outside than inside, etc). Fingers crossed!

    1. All of the above! Years ago, I said that if we ever got another puppers we would name him Biscuits because it would be a cute companion name to Buddy’s name. Our little guy didn’t have a name but I’d heard that a puppy in his litter had that name. I felt like it was Universal and also like our little guy had heard it before so maybe it would feel comforting. ❤️

A big part of why I’m doing this is exactly what you mentioned. I wish I had recordings of my grandma’s voice, my grandpa’s especially….I never met him. I would have loved to hear my mom and dad laughing about a story when they were younger. So these podcasts are a fun way to create a time capsule. Having all of you along for this journey only makes it sweeter.

He is very slowly falling in like/love with his adopted brother. We are working hard at creating boundaries. A new evening tradition that I’m in love with is that they are both on the sofa with me while we are either reading or watching a program. It began with one at either end but now they are moving closer to each other. 💕

You are so right. I’ve kept Bob Ross outside and I’m hoping that will help revive him. 🙏🏻
